I had my annual eye exam last week. Each time that I go, my doctor always asks me about any medications that I’m currently taking. I currently take two medications for high blood pressure (it’s hereditary and controlled) and a multivitamin. My doctor was happy that I take vitamins. Some doctors will tell you that you don’t need them. Of course, you need to have a healthy diet and get some exercise first and foremost. However, I’ve noticed that since I’ve been taking a multivitamin for the past month, I’ve had more energy. I’m not a spring chicken anymore. I need to keep up with my 2-year old who is in play mode 24/7.
If you take vitamins, make sure that they offer maximum absorption and antioxidant protection. In other words, don’t buy them from the dollar store. The dollar store has a lot of great stuff like coloring books and storage bags, but vitamins isn’t one of them. Cheaper doesn’t always mean better.
